When did one piece swimsuits become the “It” suit? Did Beyonce and Nikki Minaj make this happen with their 90s inspired Feelin’ Myself music video last year? (Hashtag friendship goals) It had to have been before that, although I’m sure they made that Baywatch high leg swimsuit style even more popular. But the one-piece has been making a comeback slowly but surely. Bikinis are no longer your only cute option, there are way more one-pieces available now than I can remember ever existing, everything from cute and playful to downright sexpot. So long one-pieces that make you look like a blob. We’re in the middle of a one piece revolution!
Unfortunately, my short waist has made it hard to find a one piece that works. Proportionately they just haven’t worked. Well surprise surprise, this past weekend I tried on a bodysuit, which has the same basic shape as a one piece bathing suit, and I was surprised at how good it looked. Not only do I now want a bodysuit, I’m ready to give one piece swimsuits another shot.
Before that moment I thought one-pieces made me look infantile or like an 80 year old woman. But the bodysuit did a great job of making my legs look long af, smoothed out any belly pooch, and unlike bikinis hid all signs of muffin top. If a bodysuit can do that then an awesome one piece bathing suit might be the answer to my swimwear shopping woes, right? It’s just a matter of finding the right one. Who’s with me? Are you a fan of one piece swimsuits or do you prefer an itsy bitsy teeny weenie bikini?

ASOS Halter Swimsuit – Sexy, sleek, and simple. Halter styles like this look amazing on anyone with great shoulders. And that color is incredibly flattering.
Ruffled Halter One-Piece by Swim by Anthropologie – This pretty ruffled floral print one piece is fun and spring-y. It reminds me of something Blair Waldorf would wear in the Hamptons.

Double-Strap One-Piece by Swim by Anthropologie – Preppy and slightly sporty. The cut of the stripes on the sides and middle is very flattering and draws the eye right to the chest, avoiding any problem areas.
ASOS Enchanted Floral Print Wrap Belted High Leg Swimsuit – Similar to the ruffled floral suit above, this is the sexier, darker version. It’s a little more dramatic with a high leg and long belt but it’s oh so good.
