How She’d Wear It with Style and Cheek – Wedges

Wedges are probably the most popular and versatile style of chunky footwear. So if you’re a little fearful of taking on this trend, wedges are probably your best bet, especially as we get closer and closer to summer. Styling wedges is also incredibly easy, as they tend to go with everything. Skirts, shorts, pants, dresses. It’s just a matter of pairing your style of wedge with the style of your outfit.

The two wedge sandals I chose to showcase today are similar in that they are both have ankle straps but one is an espadrille style and the other features a retro-inspired wooden platform wedge heel. Both are great for summer, but one I styled with a vacationy summer dress and the other I took to the ’70s with flares. Go by the feel of the shoe, is your wedge a cork wedge, a raffia wedge, wooden? The style of heel will point you in the direction you want to go style-wise.

Who’s ready for vacation? Insert hand raised emoji here. This outfit is made for a nice summer day, either exploring a new city or enjoying a yummy meal. The dress is casual but not too casual in a halter style and floral print but the espadrilles are seriously the highlight. Find yourself a pair of espadrilles to wear and you’ll be set for summer. Chic accessories elevate the look and white nail polish gives the outfit a bit of quirkiness and fun. Lighthearted accessories are welcome, like these adorable honeybee studs.

With the rise of ’70s trends, many of you have been bringing out your flares! And what better shoe to pair with your 70s flares than a pair of wedges? Platform wedges to be specific, because you need that height to make your flares look just right. We’re going for the all leg look with an incredibly simple outfit focused on your flares. Just add a gray t-shirt, tucked in, and brown belt (another retro twist). You can choose what accessories you’d like but I went for a matchy brown woven clutch like the inspiration photo shows and gold jewelry. Casual and cute. Great for daytime or a casual evening drink.
