It’s that time of year again! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is upon us and I’m not ready because you know what this means? It is time to shop for fall. Say what?! Fall? Are we there already?

This year my plan is buy mostly beauty products, but this sale is so big, so HUGE, who knows what I’ll go home with. I said it last year but I’m saying it again, beauty brands need to put more individual items on sale rather than bundles. I’d buy the shit out of specific makeup products if they were on sale but I tend to ignore the sets. That being said, this is a really good time to get higher ticket beauty items that you may otherwise shy away from. La Mer, anyone (cha-ching!)? Or maybe a Clarisonic?

Here are the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Dates:

July 14 – 21, Early Access for Nordstrom cardholders

July 22 – August 7, Public Access

For those who aren’t Nordstrom cardholders, you might want to consider getting a Nordstrom Debit Card. That’s what I use and it just links to your checking account. With it you are able to receive points and perks for your Nordstrom purchases. Part of the points system includes getting Nordstrom notes (free money!). You also get an alteration balance which I’ve used on things like getting jeans hemmed and shoes repaired. Sign up here and you’ll gain access to the sale before the public.

I’ve also put together a Nordstrom Sale shop page which you can come back to at any time to see sale updates as Nordstrom will continue to add new items as the sale progresses. Happy shopping!

BEAUTY

The two sets I’m most excited about are the Fresh® ‘Beauty Rituals’ Set and the Burberry Beauty ‘Glow-to-Go’ Set. I went to a Burberry Beauty and Fresh event recently and fell in love with their products. Burberry Beauty’s Fresh Glow is amazing. And all of the Fresh products are worth it so that bundle is full of magic. The La Mer moisturizer is steeeep but it’s also ~$400 less than normal price for an 8.5 oz cream which if you can afford it, it’s a great choice.

I’ve also included makeup sets from MAC, NARS, and Charlotte Tilbury. Plus a brow set from Anastasia brows, nail polish from Butter London, refreshing travel sized Evian face mists, and a hairdryer (because I’m always breaking mine!). The Evian facial water spray is a little weird but face mists are coming back, and frequent travelers know that a face mist is the best for fighting gross flight face.

SHOES

There are a million cute boots in this sale, so I tried to give a variety of shoe styles instead of showing you every single boot available. But the Ivanka Trump lace-up witchy style boot and the wine colored Mary Janes are the two I’m drooling over most. Talk about fall footwear. Based off the shoe section alone I can tell that fall style is going to be excellent (aka sexy, witchy, gorgeous).

HANDBAGS

Purchasing handbags during the #NSale is one of your best bets for a sick deal. It’s especially great if you’re the type of person who likes to get a new bag for fall, as so many of the colors and trends available are fall focused. My personal favorite is the Kate Spade ‘spencer court’ phone wristlet which would be perfect for weddings, date nights, girls night, any event where you need your hands and arms free. That Rebecca Minkoff saddle bag though is hot. And also comes in black. :)

COATS & JACKETS

This. This is what the #NSale is all about. I cringed while looking through this section because it was so hard to wrap my head around big, bundled coats with summer weather upon us but there are some beauties out there. And great deals. Leather jackets, wrap style coats, peacoats, down jackets. Might as well pick your fall/winter jacket now and get it on sale. My personal favorite is the ‘don’t mess with me’ Lauren Ralph Lauren belted drape front coat.

DRESSES

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”1772106″]

The selection of dresses is pretty good. There are a lot of pretty florals for fall, body conscious styles, and cute rompers. I tend to like the boho style florals, the body hugging dresses, and fit and flare styles best. But there are a ton of office appropriate styles I didn’t feature here. Since I work from home I don’t need work appropriate dresses but I do need cute dresses so I went that route with my above choices.

TOPS

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”1772109″]

Tops, like dresses are a personal preference type thing. I’m loving all the ladylike bowneck styles, the boho lace-up styles, and of course, burgundy and wine shades. I swear I don’t intentionally pick black, white, and burgundy but I guess that’s what my style is no matter what season. There are a lot of cute blouses, super affordable options, and pieces you need to see. If you’re in need of a fall wardrobe overhaul, you should be pumped about this sale.

JEANS

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”1772111″]

If you want to buy designer jeans, check out what Nordstrom has available. I wouldn’t say it’s the best line-up of jean styles but there are a few great buys. Black Burberry Brit jeans on sale for $150 when they’re usually $250. Dannng. But really, 7 For All Mankind skinny jeans usually $200, on sale for $99. Ok! 7 For All Mankind are my go-to jeans of choice because they fit the booty nicely.

LINGERIE

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”1772114″]

Lingerie is the one thing I’ve bought the most during the anniversary sale. They ALWAYS have the Natori Feathers bra on sale and I adore that bra. Natori’s other bras are just as wonderful, like their t-shirt bra, and their underwear. I also like to stock up on Hanky Panky lace thongs. I added the Chantelle bra even though I don’t own one because it has a ton of AMAZING reviews and comes in a bunch of sizes.

MENSWEAR

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”1772082″]

I was very judicious with my menswear choices. Not because there aren’t great options, but because I have a very picky boyfriend and I only really know his style. I’m also pretty sure that if you just wear jeans and t-shirts, you won’t have much trouble picking that out on your own. Instead, this section includes a variety of menswear styles from pricier dressy pieces to jeans to jackets.

MEN’S SHOES

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”1772051″]

This selection basically makes up Dan’s shoe collection (minus all of his basketball shoes). My men’s shoe knowledge isn’t vast but I know that Cole Haan and Allen Edmonds are great brands for style and comfort. Dan has styles he prefers, like oxfords, but the Nordstrom sale has a lot of dress shoes from monk straps to wingtips to plain toe oxfords.

MEN’S ACCESSORIES

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”1772019″]

The men’s accessories section isn’t mind blowing but there are a ton of ties. Why buy a tie at any time when there are so many on sale. Need new ties for work? Stock up. Need a tie for a wedding. Stock up. As far as other accessories go, I tend to like a lot of mens watches and the selection isn’t big but there are some nice ones.
