Today, I’m partnering with noosa yoghurt to bring you a fun summertime dinner party post. My friends and I had a great time putting together this post. Most of us hadn’t tried noosa before, but after this dinner party, I think we all are now fans of these smooth, creamy, not-too-sweet, fruit based yoghurt.
Taco night is one of our go-to dinners with friends, especially during summer. It’s easy, customizable, and filling. Plus chips with salsa and guac is the perfect summertime appetizer. Growing up, tacos were a popular get-together meal in my family. It’s also one of the few things I can throw together, although Dan grilled the chicken. It’s just so festive! All of the bright colors and flavors. But as a kid, we paired the taco spread with macaroni salad. I know, it sounds weird, but it’s a dish close to my heart. And since we ended up doing picnic style for this party, macaroni salad fit in just fine.
I put out pico de gallo, sour cream, and made guacamole to make sure my guests had something to munch on. But I didn’t expect everyone to start opening up noosa yoghurt containers to use as dip. They were so curious about the different flavors that they couldn’t wait until dinner. Turns out that while the yoghurt wasn’t necessarily meant to be used as a dip, noosa yoghurt is an excellent dip for tortillas chips. When it was finally taco time, a few of us used our favorite flavor of noosa yoghurt on the tacos. Lemon and key lime were hits as was the new Sweet Heat mango sweet chili. The whole milk yoghurt with fresh fruit puree were the perfect complement to the taco flavors.
After the tacos, there was a free for all on yoghurt. The lemon and key lime were snatched up quick. Along with blueberry which disappeared, and the mango sweet chili was basically demolished. I loved the lemon and key lime but I’m really excited there’s still blood orange and coconut left. It’s so much fun to see who likes which flavors and share an indulgent treat with friends. And I’m all for introducing friends to products they haven’t tried before. Mango sweet chili yoghurt? Who knew that would be so tasty?!
Overall the afternoon was a ton of fun! Between the taco bar, the noosa yoghurt, amazing weather, and some fun games it seriously could not have gone any better. There is nothing better than happy people with full tummies, hanging out, laughing, and playing Monikers. Thank you to my friends who were so awesome and let me photograph their arms and for waiting till we had the shots before chowing down on tacos.
