Now is the best time to talk about unique holiday outfit inspiration. I had planned on discussing something a little less specific for today’s Pinterest Picks, but I was just too inspired by my blogger friend Katrina’s holiday outfit she posted on her blog The Demure Muse. I’m a huge fan of dressing up and with so many parties during the holiday season you’re given a great excuse to have fun with your wardrobe. Sequins? Sure! Red velvet? Not just for cake! That statement piece of jewelry you feel is too bold for every day? Bring it out!
I wouldn’t say my choices are traditional holiday outfits by any means. There’s no bright, cheery red, or your typical party dress, but I tried to round up a variety of styles to inspire you this year. Get funky with your holiday outfits. Prefer menswear? Try velvet pants along with your suited up style. No one said you have to wear a red party dress to look and feel festive. If that’s your strawberry jam, awesome! If not, here are some holiday outfit ideas to try on.
Olivia Palermo | Vogue Spain – Olivia Palermo is the epitome of #stylegoals and this outfit screams holiday princess. For her it’s all about the thoughtful details. From the pulled back velvet tied pony to the silver sheer blouse and silk burgundy skirt with sequined and velvet panels.
Party Time // Selfridges | Atlantic Pacific – By now you’ve probably noticed that the ’90s slip trend is major and it’s an easy one to tackle for your holiday parties. Printed, velvet, silk. All you need is the dress, some heels, and a long coat to keep you warm.
Take 10 | Free People | The Little Magpie – I’ve been obsessed with this outfit since I first saw it last year. This saucy sheer dress with bright shoes inspired me to experiment more with my style in 2016 and not be afraid to show some skin with sheer. Maybe this daring combo will inspire you to do the same.
Holiday Party Outfit | The Demure Muse – Katrina is such a badass but this combination of crop top and silk skirt is so wearable. It’s soft and pretty but still edgy. Get your rose quartz on before 2016 ends!
Everything | Damsel in Dior – For those who prefer a sleek look, this all black suited outfit is perfect for the holidays. The velvet pants with the tuxedo blazer is dressy enough for any event.
Boho Beading | Collage Vintage – How about a boho look for the holidays? The more embroidered and beaded the dress, the better. Just add a pair of showstopper heels like these jewel tone platforms and you’re ready to party.
Meet Djuna | Nasty Galaxy – I couldn’t forget a sequined number! It’s the best time of year to be sparkly. Go for gold and short. And while you’re at it, add matching glitter boots for rocker girl vibes.
Milan Fashion Week FW 2016 Street Style: Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio | Style Du Monde – This outfit is low-key sexy and so wonderfully cozy. A jewel tone velvet dress, lace up boots, and fur stole is very boho meets Victorian.
