I’m continuing with the Galentine’s day theme from last week’s gift guide (and giveaway if you haven’t seen it yet!) to help you with some ideas for your own G-day celebration. I’ve put together numerous Valentine’s Day inspiration posts over the years but have yet to focus on Galentine’s day. Until today!
So often the Valentine’s Day ideas are all very pretty and have flowers and garlands that are more appropriate for a party than an intimate date night. As if your lover or hubby is going to spend a few days cutting out hearts from construction paper and baking you mini cakes. It’s just too much for a 1 on 1! But perfect for a girls night-in party. Plus, there are a million fun Galentine’s day themes and activities to really make the day unique, from throwback slumber party, to whisky tasting party. And there’s always brunch. I only put one brunch idea on here but the Galentine’s day brunch ideas and recipes are numerous and sound delicious. Valentine’s day is one of my favorite holidays but I think at some point every girl group needs to throw themselves a Galentine’s day extravaganza.
Girlfriends Valentine’s Day Brunch | Anthropologie – Leslie Knope’s classic Galentine’s Day celebration starts with brunch. Sounds good right? A dressed up table with a great combination of sweet and savory and pretty drinks to boot. Who wouldn’t want to celebrate their girlfriends with some french toast covered in raspberries and whipped cream?
Throwback! | A Galentine’s Day Slumber Party! (+ Free Printables!!) | Studio DIY – Oh I think this idea is so adorable. Have your pals over and do everything you used to do at sleepovers. Order pizza, make brownies and chocolate chip cookies, play MASH, and watch your favorite girly movies like Now and Then!
Card Making & Cocktails | Glitter Guide – This reminds me of elementary school where you’d make your Valentine’s Day cards in class. Such a cute idea to get together with friends and get crafty. Get yourself some butcher paper for the table, then a bunch of sequins, ribbon, washi tape, colored paper, stickers, gel pens, stamps.
Cupid’s Corner- Hosting a Valentine’s Day Dessert Party | Lauren Conrad – A dessert party is perfect for Valentine’s Day where everyone eats dinner on their own before coming to stuff their faces with sweets. You could either bake up a storm for your guests, pick up a few choice sweets from a local bakery, or set it up potluck style.
A Last Minute Valentine – The Bestie Box | Rue Daily – Many of these ideas are for Galentine’s Day parties but maybe you just want to do something nice for your bestie. There are awesome companies out there who can put together boxes like the one above for you. Or you can create your own with your bff’s favorite sweets and treats.
A Tea Time Galentine’s Day Party | Style Me Pretty – This kind of Galentine’s Day party is right up my alley. A tea party! I love the fancy element of afternoon tea time. Sitting around drinking tea, eating yummy sweets and cakes and little sandwiches while you chat. Maybe even popping a little bubbly.
DIY Galentine’s Day Balloon Tattoos | Studio DIY – These balloons are super cute and would be a great accompaniment to a Galentine’s Day party. Or you can show up to your bestie’s house with a bouquet of these balloons to express your love and appreciation.
Women & Whiskies Party! | Design Love Fest – Gather your girlfriends for a night of whiskey cocktails, good food, and bonding. I love the idea of learning about different whiskeys, doing a tasting, and then providing a special cocktail for each type.
