Fancy Friday – Let’s Go Swimming

By Friday, April 14, 2017 1 Permalink

Quite a few of people are talking about how they want to “disappear” and they’ve totally infected me with their wanderlust. I don’t have any one destination in mind for 2017, however, I keep thinking about this time last year when I was preparing for our trip to Austin and how insanely excited I was that we were staying somewhere with a pool! Because trust me, when you live in Seattle swimming in springtime doesn’t really happen unless you go to the gym. It’s just too dang cold. But once the weather starts getting nicer swimming is the first thing that comes to mind. And without a doubt, every year I put up at least one swimwear post.

My desire for travel is an excuse to talk about swimwear. It’s a great time to start thinking about buying a new suit anyway, right? If we talk about buying a new swimsuit then we can fantasize about where to wear it. Whether you plan on taking a short spring trip or a big summer getaway, let’s update your swimwear wardrobe.

Vitamin A Sirena Wrap Bikini Top and Luciana Bikini Bottoms - swimwear 2017

Vitamin A Sirena Wrap Bikini Top and Luciana Bikini Bottoms – Normally I stay away from white swimwear but this suit is gorgeous! Love the wrap bikini top with the plunging neck and textured design.

New Look Spot Mesh Swimsuit - swimwear 2017

New Look Spot Mesh Swimsuit – I have a soft spot for swimwear that looks like lingerie. The cheeky polka dots give it a retro 50s feel that’s flirty and fun, but the suit is still killer.

Free People x Beach Riot Farrah One Piece Swimsuit - swimwear 2017

Free People x Beach Riot Farrah One Piece Swimsuit – Thank you to everyone for still loving pink. While I’d love this suit in black (yes it comes in black!), this pink one piece is just so romantic. Let’s all sit around and drink rosé in our rosy swimwear.

Topshop Posie Bralette Bikini Top - swimwear 2017

Topshop Posie Bralette Bikini Top and Posie Bikini Bottoms – Pretty florals never go out of style while the crisscrossed bands give this bikini a sporty vibe. Check out the one piece version if you want something classic and feminine.

Noisy May Tan Lines Stripe Tape Crop Bikini - swimwear 2017

Noisy May Tan Lines Stripe Tape Crop Bikini – Remember Teyana Taylor’s badass performance in Kanye West’s video Fade? Yes, that’s what this bikini reminds me of, minus all the sweat. But that sexy, sporty almost Calvin Klein-ish look is awesome for swimwear.

Urban Outfitters Out From Under Printed Mock Neck Bikini Top - swimwear 2017

Urban Outfitters Out From Under Printed Mock Neck Bikini Top and Out From Under Cutout Hipster Bikini Bottom – The mock neck design on this bikini top is so cute and unique! Love the print, the neckline, and the turquoise cutout hipster bottoms that pair with it.

Mikoh Honolulu Printed Bikini Top and Miyako Printed Bikini Bottoms - swimwear 2017

Mikoh Honolulu Printed Bikini Top and Miyako Printed Bikini Bottoms – Remember how palm fronds were so insanely popular two years ago? Ok, they’re still pretty popular, but now we’re getting into more graphic fronds like these for a cute and playful swimsuit.

New Look Floral Bandeau Bikini - swimwear 2017

New Look Floral Bandeau Bikini – When in doubt, go for a retro style. Unlike the ever popular high-waisted styles, the retro vibes here are all in the floral print and twist front bandeau top.

Somedays Lovin One Side Swimsuit - swimwear 2017

Somedays Lovin One Side Swimsuit – This color is perfect for 2017. It’s called oxblood but it looks like rust which is exactly the kind of muted red that everyone is loving this year. Plus a sexy callback to 90s style one piece suits? Yes, please!
