Anyone else enjoying the insane weather we’ve been having in Seattle? One minute it’s HOT HOT HOT the next it’s back to winter temps. When Boohoo reached out to me about collaborating on their “MMM” campaign (Mini, Midi, Maxi), I didn’t know if the weather would cooperate for dresses. Gotta love the bipolar weather here. But amazingly the weather did cooperate and I once again got to work with Lauren of Lauren Wilks Photography. You must know that I love her. She’s done all my recent outfit posts and she’s so full of energy. We shot all three outfits in an evening, which I will be posting throughout the week, but today we’re starting with the maxi dress.

I’ve been really curious about Boohoo ever since they acquired Nasty Gal. Some of my blog friends have found some great pieces there, but I hadn’t really invested much time checking out their site until the Nasty Gal thing. Their philosophy is to wear what you want, because it’s more important to be confident in your style than to follow the trends. I can get behind that! Especially if it means styling three different LBDs. Duh, of course if someone is going to encourage me to be me, I’m going to pick three black dresses.
This Sandy Scoop Neck Maxi Dress is the perfect vacation dress, so what I’ve shown here is the pre-adventure get-up, for when you hit the juice bar before taking a relaxing barefoot stroll on the beach. I’ve layered a Zara silky button down on top for a little more coverage, and paired the whole thing with some cute but walkable sandals. The dress is a scoop neck with tank straps so you can easily wear a bra with it. It also comes in a billion colors so if something like…hot pink or something more subdued like gray then Boohoo’s got you covered.
The dress is super long but it’s so stretchy you can hike it up easily if you need to scale a little rock wall (I did this while we were trying to get a shot with some flowers before I encountered a tiny spider who I didn’t want to disturb)… But my point is that this is a dress you can adventure in. The other Boohoo dresses I’ll be featuring are a little more date-night than beach-day so be on the lookout for them later this week.
