Aside from vacation dresses, Boohoo is fabulous for party dresses and date-night dresses. If you’re looking for something really cute and sexy, you will find it at Boohoo. I decided to go for a midi dress for the date-night portion of the MMM campaign and picked this Perry Strap Wrap & Tie Detail Midi Dress. It’s basically the epitome of a date-night dress.

You guys, I usually don’t wear such tight, low-cut clothing WITH a high cut slit. This was very out of my comfort zone. I really like the dress. I mean I picked it out, so I must like it, but I guess I didn’t realize it would be so tight and low-cut. But I really dig slit dresses, so I went for it. If you’re going to wear a sexy dress, but you don’t want to wear a super short dress, a midi style is a good way to sexify it.
This is actually a huge part of why I wanted a leather jacket, so I could wear it over dresses and instantly rough ’em up. The femininity of dresses at times can make me uncomfortable, but the leather jacket gives it some edge and make it feel more me. It’s like hey, I’m in this revealing dress but I also have armor, so don’t mess.
It’s a minor but impactful detail but the awesome earrings I’m wearing are the Baton Earrings from Fresh Tangerine, a local jewelry brand here in Seattle. If you’ve seen me wearing any delicate rings, especially midi rings, they’re from Fresh Tangerine. Kim Kogane is the designer and I actually bought her stuff at Moorea Seal without realizing that it was her designs. Kim is awesome and her jewelry is very minimal, great for stacking. She’s always wearing a ton of earrings because she has a bunch of piercings and it looks really cool. I only have a regular ear-piercing so I’ll stick to that but that’s totally fine because I like to keep it simple.
As for other styling? It’s like modern ’90s goth meets vampire slayer, with a kick ass cross necklace and chunky sandals I found in my mom’s closets, that legitimately could be from the 90s. They’re Chinese Laundry and I love them (they also broke during this shoot but maybe some Gorilla glue can fix these babies). They remind me of the music video for 6 Underground by Sneaker Pimps. I know that’s very specific, but I just imagine hanging out in this outfit in an episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, at The Bronze, waiting for my vampire boyfriend.
