It’s been a long time since I’ve written a post. Sadly, 31 Days of Halloween doesn’t count. I might be rusty, so bear with me. While you were probably expecting an explanation post as to where I’ve been for the past two years… Nope! Today is about one of my favorite topics. Spooky style. Don’t worry, the other post is coming.
Every year I put together a Spooky Style post which is about pieces you can wear during October that aren’t costumes but still feel Halloween-ish. This series started when I became obsessed with a pair of polka dot tights paired with an orange dress back in 2013. I loved the idea of wearing things that alluded to Halloween but that you could wear without looking like straight up Wednesday Addams. So here are my picks for this year’s Spooky Style post.
Unique Vintage Ivory Ghoul Gang Short Sleeve Unisex Tee – This shirt is so fun! I’d wear this year-round but most people probably wouldn’t. So if your Halloween plans are casual, throw on this Ghoul Gang tee and some black jeans and it’s candy-eating time.
ASOS DESIGN Halloween Scream Queen Hair Clips – You could wear all black and just these on Halloween with dramatic makeup and you’d be good to go. The rest of the year, wear the Queen hair clip. You’re welcome.
Modcloth Miss Meow Midi Dress – Purrfect. Yep, I just said that. I know this style looks like what an elementary teacher would wear but I also think it’s really sweet and very flattering. That’s key. Yes, it has little black cats on it but the fit is excellent. Who doesn’t want a pretty little number that flatters?
UO Margot Velvet Zodiac Boot – Do we consider zodiac items Halloween-y? I don’t but I also couldn’t resist these lovely velvet zodiac boots. It’s one of those details where people will ask what’s on you what’s on your boots. And guess what? Details matter.
Wildfox Dead Tired Rebel Hoodie – Do I even need to explain why this hoodie is perfect? Aren’t we all a little dead tired? We might as well have fun with it. Please notice that the skeleton is wearing sunglasses, which is the best part of this already awesome hoodie.
Unique Vintage Black Wool Felt Bolero Hat – This hat reminds me of the witch season of American Horror Story where they were always wearing different kinds of hats. It’s not the typical pick for fall, which is floppier, so update your wardrobe with the bolero version of a witchy hat.
Unique Vintage Black Cotton Wingin It Unisex Tee – I love the subtlety of this tee. You can wing it any time of year, but it’s extra adorable for the holiday. Knot it with a pencil skirt like the model is wearing above, then add some tights and a pair of witchy black booties.
Unique Vintage Collectif Orange & Black Pumpkin Plaid Bonnie High Waist Pants – Aren’t these cute? Very pumpkin-y like you could wear them with the above t-shirt and you’re good to go for Halloween. Or you could wear it with a puff sleeve sheer blouse, wool overcoat, and pointy heels for a chic fall outfit.
