Apple cider is always the first drink that comes to mind when I think of seasonal fall beverages. Whether it’s hot apple cider, cold apple cider, or hard apple cider, I’m just an apple cider kind of gal. But you can’t only drink apple cider during fall, that will get old quick, which is why I’ve always been interested in creative cocktail making. The coolest thing about yummy seasonal drinks, besides the fact that they’re yummy, is that they spread the spirit of the season. Mint Juleps and Sangria in summer, Eggnog during Christmas, etc. etc. These drinks really help to make any party feel like an event. So with Halloween and Thanksgiving just around the corner, what could make those holidays feel more festive than a delicious seasonal cocktail or two?
While I did put in a few apple cider cocktails in here, I explored some different ingredients that are popular or fresh right now. The key with fall cocktails is that there is some element of warming going on. Either the drink itself is warm or the spices/herbs in the drink make you feel warm, autumnal drinks are all about feeling cozy. So how about some pumpkin buttered rum? Or a fresh pomegranate spritzer garnished with pomegranate seeds? Choose one of these cocktails to make at a party or pour one for yourself on a chilly evening.
