Floral prints for women are timeless, and this time of year they are everywhere. They’re also a tad overdone and overexposed. But I can’t get enough of floral prints for guys, especially since I don’t see men wearing floral prints enough! Yeah part of the problem is obviously a lot of guys being unwilling to wear floral, but there just aren’t anywhere near as many floral options for guys as there are for girls. Well duh, right? But hey, I want more choices for the boys, more fun prints, more girly touches to their very plain wardrobes, anything that’s beyond the regular solid color pieces.
Sure, solid pieces are easy to style, but they lack personality. Floral prints on guys are unexpected and really really fun. Some are even kinda sexy and cool. Take Dan for example, he owns one floral piece in his whole closet and it’s probably the coolest piece he owns, a pair of dark floral boxers from J.Crew. So don’t be afraid guys give into the power of the flower.
J.Crew Slim Secret Wash Shirt in Floral – I’ve had my eye on this particular shirt for a while now and love that it’s a floral print that can be worn year round. It’s on the fancier side, as it has long sleeves, but can be dressed up or down depending on the season.
J.Crew Italian Silk Tie in Flora Jacquard – Dan recently came back from New Jersey with this tie that he got on sale. I was SO proud that he bought a floral piece without my input. It’s so classy and pretty.
Banana Republic Camden-Fit Purple Floral 120s Supima Cotton Shirt – I love a subtle floral print like this purple shirt from Banana Republic. It’s perfect for spring events.
J.Crew Short-Sleeve Shirt in Spring Vine Floral – If Tommy Bahama wasn’t designed for middle aged men, this is the style they’d carry. It’s comfortable and tropical but still fitted and fun.
Banana Republic Floral Bow Tie – This is the best floral bow tie I’ve ever seen! The floral print isn’t too in your face and has a wonderful vintage/British feel to it.
Ralph Lauren Floral Poplin Sport Shirt – Navy and white will always feel preppy. The only way this could get preppier is if it were a polka dot, but as it is, this floral print would feel at home in the Hamptons.
Barney Cools ‘Lisse’ Trim Fit Short Sleeve Floral Print Chambray Shirt – This more subdued shirt needs to take me on a tropical vacation. Coming to a Russell Westbrook near you!
Banana Republic Italian Cotton Micro-Floral Tie – Such an awesome, funky floral! The floral print on this tie is very modern and fun and could be worn anywhere, work or play.
J.Crew Short-Sleeve Shirt in Navy Floral – This print feels very Caribbean. You’d wear this while on vacation, out to dinner on a patio with a drink in hand as you watch the sunset. End scene.
Ezekiel ‘Slayter’ Trim Fit Floral Print Woven Shirt – Now this is an intense floral print, and yet it comes across as more of a graphic print than a straight up floral. It’s edgier than the other pieces with a black background that really makes the flowers pop.
