Now that the holiday season is fast approaching I’ve been looking at my closet wishing I had more inspiring pieces, specifically pretty blouses. Aside from dresses my closet just seems so utilitarian. ‘Tis the season for get-togethers, family dinners, and celebrations. All of which usually involve feasting and a little holiday magic. You want pieces you can wear comfortably but still have a little special something to make you feel pretty, whether you’re a fan of polka dots, lace, or luxe fabric.
A pretty top is a good alternative to a party dress, especially if the party you’re attending isn’t so much a party as it is a dinner or casual get together. I remember some notable outfits in the past where I wore a dressy top with pants or a skirt during the holidays. I’m really missing the range my closet had at that time as well as the confidence I had to wear whatever I liked. In high school I had a burgundy velvet blazer that I would wear over a lace top, a black chiffon ruffled off the shoulder blouse, and a baby blue v-neck sweater that I would wear with light gray-blue slacks. Fond memories were made while wearing these pieces, so why not look for some fun, comfy, maybe even romantic pieces for this holiday season!
