Western Inspired Boots are Riding Into Town

I guess it’s shoe week here on Style and Cheek! This month’s HSWI theme is chunky footwear but I didn’t want to miss my chance to talk about another shoe trend, western inspired boots. And with our Austin trip coming up in a few weeks, it felt like the perfect time to roundup some of the best western style boots available, though to be honest I never expected myself to really like this trend. I’ve always been a riding boot fan, fawning over the clean crisp lines of equestrian styles and giving the side eye to the more elaborate style of the beloved western style cowboy boot. I thought it was all ho-downs and line dancing and Clint Eastwood scowling. It makes me think of country girls wearing jeans shorts or summery dresses. That’s not my style. It’s not urban enough for me. I need attitude. But surprise, surprise there a ton of western inspired boots out there that still play with those cool girl vibes that I love, but with a hint of western style. The boots below are a lot more Jack White than Eric Church, and would all make a welcome addition to my closet (and yours).

Western Inspired Boots - Free People Hunt The Plains Boot

Free People Hunt The Plains Boot – These boots are ah-mazing. Everything about them is sexy, rugged, and beautiful. The metal heel and toe caps and V-cut sides. The fact that this boot comes in a bunch of different colors including a super sassy red, and metallic…I love the neutral but I’d take all the colors.

Western Inspired Boots - Topshop 'Austin' Western Bootie

Topshop ‘Austin’ Western Bootie – I keep gravitating towards these booties for posts because they’re so cool! Very rock-n-roll. They feature an awesome buckle and kinda mule slash bootie design which is great for spring and summer styling.

Western Inspired Boots - ASOS RANCH Suede Western Boots

ASOS RANCH Suede Western Boots – These boots are so classic. You can’t go wrong with a pair like these. They’ll go with jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses and have a really flattering silhouette that’s still comfortable with a heel height of 3″.

Western Inspired Boots - Jeffrey Campbell x Free People After Dark Boot

Jeffrey Campbell x Free People After Dark Boot – LOVE. I’m so happy to put these in this roundup. Definitely not cheap, but gorgeous. I’ve been in love with these for awhile. They’re so damn fun and beautiful. Just look at them! Bejeweled rockstar boots.

Western Inspired Boots - Dolce Vita Jones Booties

Dolce Vita Jones Booties – Another classy boot option. They also come in a pretty taupe color but I tend to go for darker shade (both are lovely). They feature western inspired topstitching, stacked heel, and a super walkable 2.5″ heel height.

Western Inspired Boots - Free People Frontier Stitch Boot

Free People Frontier Stitch Boot – Ok, these are almost as cool as the bedecked beauties above but a much more sane and practical version with gorgeous contrast stitch details. They also come in an amazing nude with black stitching and a crazy cherry red color, but these black boots are for late night bad decisions. ;)

Western Inspired Boots - Toby Western Boot

Toby Western Boot at Urban Outfitters – Here are the most cowboy feeling of the group but modernized and not so “down-home” and in black so the attitude is turned way up. Fun, funky, and ready for adventuring.

Western Inspired Boots - Free People Benson Chelsea Boot

Free People Benson Chelsea Boot – These are so cool! Chelsea boots with western flair. It’s like your favorite fall boots that take on the city daily, only ready to head down to the river for live music with a few beers and friends. Plus, I cannot get over the perfection that is this color.
