Dan likes to tell me how picky I am when it comes to shoes but you know what? He’s right. I find most shoes really, really boring. Shoes need to be amazing for me to drop $$ on a new pair, especially sandals. But I’ve realized my main problem is that I miss out on the newest/best seasonal items by being such a procrastinator. Usually, it’s slim pickings on summer footwear by the time I make my to the mall. Thus my whining that there aren’t enough worthy options for my feet. Wah. Well, this year I’ve tried to be smarter about summer shoe shopping, and you guys should too. Because guess what, now is the time to buy sandals. NOW, YOU GUYS! Get ’em while they’re hot.

Speaking of hot… a few weeks ago, when the weather was not sandal ready, I went shoe shopping and by chance tried on an awesome pair of Free People gladiator sandals at Nordstrom. They were so cool! I’d never tried Free People’s FP Collection and color me impressed. They were unique, sturdy, and comfortable. After spending so much time ogling their shoes on their site, I can now vouch for their awesome variety, which I tried to capture here today. Pretty much all of the sandals below come in different colors so, for example, if you don’t love the INTENSE black gladiator sandals (I do, they’re badass), they also come in a pretty taupe and grayish white. I tried to give you a variety of colors and styles but if you’re a fan of versatile brown or black, there are some options for you in here.

Heathermarie Heaton Braided Sandal – These are gorgeous. I love this shot, first of all, because that dress and sandal combo is the stuff of summer dreams but the braided lace-up detail is beautiful.

faryl robin + Free People Republik Vegan Gladiator Sandals – These are so badass. They come in two other colors that are pretty and low-key but this color is a heart stomper. They have serious attitude and I love it.

faryl robin + Free People Vegan Jayden Gladiator – Goddessy. The rose gold is really pretty and ethereal and adds a nice amount of shine to your look without being in your face. Plus, they have adjustable straps.

FP Collection Harpoon Wrap Sandal – These are amazing. I love the rustic feel of these sandals with the delicate leather straps. They are calling out and saying, “take me to Greece!”

faryl robin + Free People Carlyn Mid Gladiator Sandal – A chunkier sandal option, great for exploring. These are definitely on the more rustic and fierce side of gladiator sandals. This one is for the adventurous spirit.

FP Collection Sun Seeker Tall Sandal – Here are the sandals I was telling you about before. Cool, right? The color really makes them. Yes, they take about a billion years to get on the first time but once you have them all situated to your calf size they look really crazy and fun.

FP Collection Crowe Distressed Sandal – Isn’t this purple sandal just lovely? I’m imagining all the pretty spring and summer colors you can pair these with and they’re simple so they’ll go with anything.

Jeffrey Campbell + Free People Star Valley Gladiator – Classic. These are gorgeous. The structure is simple but the design is dramatic. They have adjustable buckles and back zipper for a great fit but I love the wine color more than anything else.
