This is what you get when my boyfriend Dan, his friend Alice, and I put our minds together after a big meal of pasta and wine – ONESIES! At first I thought about doing loungewear but then I saw the ASOS Owl Print Jersey and realized how damn comfortable a onesie sounds, especially from the brand OnePiece. Dan thought the onesie was silly but when I showed Alice she got super excited and told me that there’s a store in Santa Monica that only sells onesies! How cool is that? They also happen to be made by my people – Norwegians (technically I’m only 1/8 Norwegian but I like to think that I have a viking spirit, ok?) The point is that onesies are kinda perfect for this time of year.
Comfort is king, even on Fancy Friday. It’s one thing to drool over beautiful designer pieces straight from the runway, but if that corset blouse cuts off your air supply then what’s the point? We’ve all been eating non-stop since Thanksgiving, so this is not the time of year to squeeze yourself into unnecessarily form-fitting pieces. The parties are over, you can put the spanx away. It’s winter, you’re rocking a perma food-baby, so bring on the comfort. But how about we go old school comfort, and by old school I mean way way back to the comfort you loved when you were little. Forget designer runway styles for a moment and embrace the power of the onesie.
