Nothing makes me happy quite like creative Valentine’s Day ideas. Valentine’s Day is the prettiest holiday, so I’ve done a post about it almost every year. Sure, Christmas is wonderful and festive and sparkly, but Valentine’s Day gives me a feeling of hope. Not for sentimental reasons, like romance or love, but for the aesthetics of it. Ok, the romantic stuff can be pretty sweet too but the decorative changes make me giddy when I need it the most. Valentine’s Day is in the dead of winter, when Seattle is super rainy, gray, cold, and basically miserable. And then all of a sudden, everything is beautifully covered in red and pink, there are flowers everywhere, and there’s a lightness and vibrance all around us that we haven’t seen in months, and won’t see again until May.

Winter is my least favorite season, and kinda kills my soul a bit. Valentine’s Day is an oasis in the middle of that drudgery that gets me excited for spring, and warmer weather. Without fail, during January and February, I relish all of the Valentine’s Day pins on Pinterest. Give me all of the red and pink and white tablescapes, crafts, and treats. Make me feel like everything is light and bright and full of warmth, love, and passion. 3 Valentine’s Day Wrapping Ideas | The House That Lars Built – These are adorable! I love the ombre wrapping paper but the pinata wrapping with the heart and arrow is my favorite. I know the idea of putting a lot of effort into wrapping can be seem daunting but if you’re only exchanging one or two gifts it’s worth it.

Spicy Chocolate Bark with Chipotle and Almonds | Foodie Crush – This chocolate bark looks amazing! It’s not only gorgeous, it sounds tasty! A little heat from the chipotle with some crunch of the almonds and smoooooth chocolate. Yum.
